Community Vet is an independent website. We are not operated by SAVA or the official SAVA Community Veterinary Clinics programme.
This domain previously hosted the official website of the SAVA-CVC programme — a non-profit initiative that has been bringing primary veterinary care to disadvantaged communities across South Africa since 1998. We have rebuilt the site as an expanded community resource that honours that original mission: helping South African pet owners who struggle to afford private veterinary care.
Our goal is straightforward — we want you to know:
- Where to find free or low-cost vet care near you
- What common procedures actually cost at private vets
- How pet insurance works, what it costs, and whether it makes sense for your situation
Our insurance pages link directly to provider websites. Read our affiliate disclosure for how we label commercial links and use rescue referral tags.
